Ranij Basnet, an exceptional barista at Costa Coffee Qatar, set a new record by becoming the first Alghanim Industries employee to secure two awards at the prestigious international competition. Now in its 14th year, the Barista of the Year contest provides a global platform for Costa Coffee baristas to demonstrate their outstanding skills, expertise, and dedication to their craft.

Basnet initially won the Best Specialty Drink award with his ingenious creation that masterfully captured consumer preferences while exceeding expectations in accentuating the nuances of coffee. After prevailing in multiple rounds of intense competition against hundreds of contestants, Basnet claimed the top award of the evening, the Global Barista of the Year, outshining six of Costa Coffee's finest baristas from various markets. His winning signature beverage, the 'Coco Spanish Flat White,' charmingly referred to as a 'cup of happiness,' captivated the panel of judges with its flawless harmony between spice and coffee flavors.

Under Alghanim Industries' guidance, Costa Coffee has experienced significant growth in the region, boasting more than 100 stores in Kuwait, 50 stores in Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh, the Western Province, Mecca, and Jeddah, as well as locations in Qatar and Oman, with further expansion planned in the coming months.
