Alghanim Industries hosts Kuwait Codes students

Alghanim Industries recently welcomed a group of high school students participating in the "Kuwait Codes" initiative to its offices. An educational initiative supported by Alghanim Industries, Kuwait Codes aims to teach programming principles to hundreds of high school students.

The visit featured a discussion panel by Saleem Hammad, General Manager of E-commerce at Alghanim Industries, Ahmed Shahroor, Senior E-commerce Manager, and was attended by Ahmed Maarafi, Co-Founder and CEO of CODED Academy. The participants discussed the importance of programming skills in various educational pathways and how these skills can be beneficial in their future careers, especially considering the increasing reliance on programming in creating diverse job opportunities.

Students also shared their chosen programming language paths and talked about the projects they are working on within their chosen paths. The initiative offers participants the opportunity to select one of four tracks, including iPhone app development, Android app development, website design, and game development.

Alghanim Industries announced its sponsorship of the "Kuwait Codes" initiative earlier this year. Launched by CODED Academy, the first programming academy in the Middle East, the initiative provides high school students in Kuwait the opportunity to learn and practice programming skills.

Alghanim Industries' sponsorship of this initiative reaffirms its strong belief in the importance of private sector institutions contributing to the development of youth skills and empowerment. This is particularly relevant in learning the basics of programming, which is a fundamental pillar for the future of many job sectors, such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, virtual worlds, and other modern industries that are reshaping the job market.
