Alghanim Industries Announces Board of Directors Chaired by Kutayba Y. Alghanim

Alghanim Industries (Kutayba Alghanim Group), one of the region's largest privately owned companies, has announced the formation of its Board of Directors, chaired by Kutayba Y. Alghanim, Executive Chairman of the Group. The move is part of the Group’s efforts to strengthen corporate governance and develop its organizational structure in support of its growth and expansion plans.
The Board includes Hazem Shawki as Vice Chairman, alongside Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Nizar M. Al-Adsani, Waleed AlOsaimi, Ammar Alkhudairy and Iyad Malas.

The Board’s members bring extensive leadership experience across international affairs, energy, banking, investment, finance, business management and corporate governance. Working alongside executive management, the Board will support the Group’s strategic direction, strengthen governance and help inform decision-making, drawing on its members’ experience and perspectives as Alghanim Industries pursues its growth and expansion plans.

Board of Directors – Member Profiles
Hazem Shawki – Vice Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors
Hazem Shawki brings extensive international experience in banking and investment, having previously served as Head of the Investment Bank for the Middle East and North Africa at UBS, alongside senior leadership roles at Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with leading groups and companies across the region, advising on strategic transactions and plans for growth and expansion.

Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah
Sheikh Salem brings more than 37 years of diplomatic and international experience. He served as Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United States for more than two decades and as Minister of Foreign Affairs. He currently serves as Chairman of Sama X and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science from the American University of Beirut.

Nizar M. Al-Adsani
Al-Adsani brings more than three decades of experience in the energy sector. He previously served as Deputy Chairman and CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and held senior leadership positions at Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC), Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) and Al-Khafji Joint Operations. His experience spans energy, investment, strategy and governance.

Waleed AlOsaimi
AlOsaimi brings more than 45 years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial oversight and corporate governance. He spent nearly four decades at Ernst & Young Kuwait, serving as Partner and Managing Partner and working with major public and private sector organizations. He has also held senior finance roles at Kuwait Finance House and contributed to the development of the profession through leadership positions at the Kuwait Association of Accountants and Auditors.

Ammar Alkhudairy
Alkhudairy brings more than 35 years of experience in banking and investment, including corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, asset management, private equity and venture capital. He previously chaired the Saudi National Bank and played a key role in the merger that created the Kingdom’s largest bank. He has also chaired Goldman Sachs Saudi Arabia, Morgan Stanley Saudi Arabia and Allianz Saudi Fransi. He is the Founding Partner and Chairman of Amwal Capital Partners.

Iyad Malas
Malas brings more than 30 years of international experience across investment, financial services, real estate, retail and leisure. He currently serves as Group CEO of Al Ghurair Group and previously served as Group CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Holding, where he led the company through a period of growth and strategic expansion. He has also held senior positions at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), EFG Hermes and Gateway Partners, and served on a number of corporate boards.
