Alghanim Industries Observed Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Alghanim Industries, one of the largest privately owned companies in the region, observed Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a series of activities and events for its female employees at its headquarters in Al Hamra Business Tower, Kuwait City. The activities restate Alghanim Industries commitment to this annual campaign celebrated in countries across the world that highlights the importance of breast cancer awareness, education and research.

The series of activities, which took place on 16 October 2019, commenced with a talk by Consultant Radiologist Dr. Nouralhuda Karmani from Nour Imaging Clinic, who discussed various topics on women’s health and cancer, including prevention, self-examination, early detection, cancer treatment modalities, and dealing with stress and anxiety.

In a move to symbolize fighting cancer, the event included a kickboxing session led by Kuwaiti female Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Eman Al Mudhaf from Fight Club Kuwait. Al Mudhaf and her MMA coach Mahdi Sultan gave the attendees a quick demonstration on how to throw a boxing punch, and talked to employees about different ways to incorporate being active into their daily routine.

The event concluded with a networking session, where attendees of the Breast Cancer Awareness event enjoyed pink-colored snacks, fresh juices and refreshments, provided courtesy of Costa Coffee, in addition to complimentary pink nail art supporting the cause.

The program concluded with a networking event where employees and guests enjoyed refreshments, pink-colored snacks and pink nail art in solidarity with breast cancer patients and their families. Alghanim Industries is one of the pioneers in introducing improved maternity leave policies for its female staff, which includes extending the paid maternity leave for up to 90 days. It remains committed to empowering women in the community, and continues developing a supportive, enabling environment for its female talent.
