Alghanim Industries Concludes Participation in Tmkeen Youth Symposium

Kuwait City, Kuwait: Alghanim Industries, one of the largest privately owned companies in the region, concluded its strategic sponsorship of the Tmkeen Youth Symposium for the third consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to enabling Kuwait’s new generation of entrepreneurs and young business leaders. The event took place on 5th and 6th of November 2018 at the Kuwait Four Seasons Hotel under the patronage of H.H. the Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, and was inaugurated by H.E. Mohammad Al Jabri, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs. It featured highly experienced guest speakers, and renowned global industry leaders, Netflix and Tesla, and was attended by hundreds of youth from across country.

In addition to being a strategic sponsor, Alghanim Industries contributed to the symposium with a talk delivered by the General Manager of Costa Coffee Kuwait, Tarek Trad, who talked about Costa Coffee’s experience as a main player in Kuwait’s food and beverage sector. Trad discussed the brand’s rapid expansion across Kuwait, opening more than 30 branches in less than a year. He highlighted Costa Coffee’s innovative approach to the  menu, offering customers with different food and beverage options that meet various tastes and needs. Trad also shed light on the different initiatives launched by Costa Coffee Kuwait to enable entrepreneurs, “As an Alghanim Industries company, supporting Kuwaiti youth in Costa Coffee is part of our DNA – and we do that on different levels. We’re among the first to participate in different events that support and empower youth, such as Battle of the East and Gulf Run, and we also regularly collaborate with innovative Kuwaiti entrepreneurs.”

He went on to say, “To support our young entrepreneurs, we have teamed up with Nagwa, bringing authentic Kuwaiti sweets to our customers across Kuwait. We have also recently collaborated with Whole Hearted, offering their gluten-free vegan cookies in all our locations around the country. We’re dedicating our stores as a platform for these entrepreneurs, to use the scale and size of Costa Coffee to reach a wider range of customers through our stores.”

Sponsoring the event for the third consecutive year reflects Alghanim Industries’ belief in the goals of Kuwait’s national youth initiative. The company underscored the vital role the private sector can play in empowering entrepreneurs, while also echoing the directives of His Highness the Amir, who has consistently urged business leaders on numerous occasions to invest in supporting the nation’s youth.

Commenting on the company’s commitment to empowering youth through its sponsorship of Tmkeen, Corporate Communications Manager at Alghanim Industries Hadeer Shelash said: “Youth are eager for opportunities that not only hone their skills and enrich their talents, but also inspire them – and that’s exactly what Tmkeen does. Since its first edition, Tmkeen Youth Symposium contributed to enriching the ongoing dialogue on entrepreneurship and providing a platform for interaction between youth and successful entrepreneurs from both local and international markets.”
