As part of the KIMMCO technical training program, which aims to educate the GCC construction industry about KIMMCO insulation applications, KIMMCO has been conducting insulation application training sessions around the region. The most recent training was performed for the MEP contractor Akinisi and Ekin JV at the proposed New Doha International Airport (NDIA) on 14 January 2009.

Dr. Kailash Chandra, Sr. Manager Technical, Alghanim Industries Insulation Group, Kuwait, and Prasad Ragji, Area Sales Manager, Qatar, conducted this training at the Akinisi & Ekin contractor workshop in Qatar located at the NDIA construction site.

The training programme was attended by 55 duct fabricators of Akinisi & Ekin JV and was conducted under the supervision of the representatives of project consultants Bechtel, BVQI & the main MEP contractor. Dr. Chandra demonstrated how to apply fiberglass insulation on HVAC ducts and explained how important insulation is to stop condensation. He also identified the critical areas of an insulated duct that need to have insulation in order to maintain uniform thermal performances.

KIMMCO is a major approved supplier of fiberglass insulation material for this prestigious project in Doha and is supplying fiberglass insulation through its distributors to almost all the MEP contractors working at NDIA. The NDIA is likely to be completed by 2010. It is projected to be the biggest airport in the GCC.
