Industrial Group was invited to provide its expertise on the Green Building concept at the ‘’Future Airport’’ Conference held in Dubai last May 2009. The conference took place concurrently with the Airport Show, May 19 to 21 2009, while implementations of major new airport developments are taking place in the Middle East, North Africa and India (MENAI), topping the agenda at the two-day forum.

In addition to Alain David representing Alghanim Industries Industrial Group among the speakers at the ‘Future Airports’’ Conference, the panel included as well Paul Griffiths, CEO, Dubai Airports; Rudy Vercelli, CEO, Abu Dhabi Airports Company ( ADAC); Mustafa Sani Sener, President and CEO, TAV Airport Holdings; Jean-Marie Chevallier, Chairman and CEO, Aéroports de Paris Management; and Jihad Boueri, Regional Director, Applications Services, Middle East & Turkey, SITA.

Alain David was invited to talk about the development of the sustainable building concept in the GCC. He reviewed all the initiatives initiated recently on the Green Building concept in GCC countries; MASDAR City in Abu Dhabi, the Qatar Green Building Council in Doha, Dubai Municipality, the World Green Building Council, the Green House in the UAE and the Middle East Center for Sustainable Development. Alain David supported his views presenting a practical case study introducing Alghanim Industries Insulation Group collaboration with MASDAR City, the ambitious project launched by the Government of Abu Dhabi demonstrating a long term commitment to renewable energy for a sustainable future .This zero carbon city will rely on solar and other renewable energy sources. After explaining the substantial role of insulation products in the environment protection process, he went on introducing Kirby pre-engineered buildings as an option to build lighter and more sustainable airports in the future.

The 9th Future Airport Conference was supported by leading aviation authorities and trade bodies including Dubai Airports, Abu Dhabi Airports Company, German Airport Technology & Equipment (GATE), Danish Airport Group, British Aviation Group (BAG), British Airport Services & Equipment Association (BASEA), and UBIFRANCE (the French Agency for International Business Development).
