Q. What is the online application system?A. Our online application system is a state-of-the-art recruitment management system, which is designed to enable candidates to apply for jobs online and to enable recruiters to screen, select and communicate with candidates. Q. How can applying online help me in the long term?A. The online application system will give you higher control over your application. It explains how your application moves through the various stages of recruitment. In addition, since your profile will be maintained on our system whether you secure a position or not, it will enable us to get in touch with whenever a suitable vacancy arises. On the flip side, the online application system is only as good as you want it to be. If your information on the system is not recent and updated, you will lose the benefit of appearing in search results that are relevant to your profile. Additionally, our online application system purges all information that has not been updated for a long time. It is thus your responsibility to make sure that you keep your information updated. We will try our best to remind you to update your profile or inform you of any critical system related change which will affect your profile. Q. Can I make an application in another language?A. Our system supports applications in two languages: English and Arabic. On the application centre, you have the option of selecting the language in which you wish to apply. It is always better to apply in English as it may be possible that the hiring manager may need to see your CV in the language best understood by him/ her. Nevertheless, we see many Arabic applications and we do have recruiters who can translate them into the language necessary for the hiring manager. Q. Can I send my resume to an email id or drop it in a hard copy?A. We do not accept applications in hard copy or sent via email. Please apply through the online application system only. It’s extremely user friendly for both the candidate and recruiter. If you apply online, you can be sure that your CV is in the right hands. Online applications save a lot of processing time for the recruiter as well as for the candidate. Remember, once your application is online, you can apply to any job and keep track of all the applications at the same time. Q. Am I required to register with the online application system before I submit my resume or apply to a job?A. Yes, you are required to register with the online application system before you apply for a job. Without the registration, the system will not be able to recognize you as an authentic user nor will you be able to apply or track applications. Q. What kind of information will be required when I register with the system?A. The registration is literally a 5-10 seconds process. All you need is a valid email id to register with the online application system. Q. What will I be able to do when I am registered with the system?A. Once you have registered yourself with the system, you can apply for jobs, track/ manage your applications, keep a log of all conversations and emails exchanged with the recruiters, maintain and update information, setup email alerts, view your offer details etc. Q. I have forgotten my password. How can I retrieve it?A. The online application centre has a facility to retrieve passwords. All you will need is the login id i.e. the email address at which you receive communication from Alghanim and your password will be mailed back to you. Q. I have registered with two different email ids and have two logins. Is that a problem?A. Ideally, you should never have two different logins to the same system. It might lead to inconsistency in information. You may not have updated your personal details on one of your logins and hence you may not show up in the search results of the recruiter. This way you may lose an opportunity to gain attention. Also, two different sets of information about yourself may be confusing to the person viewing your profile. Please try to have only one login as far as possible. Q. How can I search jobs with specific titles or specific skills?A. On the Vacancies search page, you can use the keyword option to search jobs with specific titles or skills. Click here to display help on using keyword search. Q. Can I see the list of all the vacancies in Alghanim?A. Yes, you can see a list of all the vacancies in Alghanim on the vacancy search page. There are two options. Click on the ‘Submit’ button without entering any search terms or just browse the list of all vacancies in the list right below the ‘Submit’ button. Q. Can I apply to more than one vacancy?A. Yes, you can apply to more than one vacancy. But please be aware of the confusion it could create. It could also put your application in bad light if your name appears on the application list of every job. It may reflect that you do not know what you really want from the job. So limit the number of application you make to the function or business that you really want to work in. If you have applied for more than one vacancy then make sure you don’t start interviewing for both positions. It is not good practice to interview for different positions within the same company at the same time. Make sure you inform the recruiter if you are already interviewing with the company for another position. Q. I cannot find a vacancy that suits me. What can I do to register my interest in working for Alghanim?A. You can do one of the two things. You can set up an email alert to notify you when a relevant job vacancy arises or you can drop your CV with us. This will make sure that your CV is on the system even though you haven’t applied for any position. You will only be allowed to drop your CV in case a vacancy that you are looking for does not exist. By all means, please apply to any active vacancies rather than dropping your CV. Please note that submitting your resume in the Drop Box section does not mean that you will receive a response from the recruitment team. It is just a mechanism for you to log your CV with the system so that your profile appears on results when the recruiter is searching for candidates on the online recruitment system. Q. Can you notify me when a vacancy arises in Alghanim?A. You can setup an email alert in your application centre to notify you of new vacancies that come up in Alghanim. Q. How much time does it take to make a job application through the system?A. Depending upon the job you are applying for and your readiness with respect to documentation, it might take 5-10 minutes to make an online application. Please note that not all jobs will require the same level of detail and hence the application time for some jobs will be considerably lower or higher than application time for other jobs. Q. What documents should I attach to the application? Is it compulsory to attach these documents?A. Our online application for jobs, may ask you to answer a couple of questions and attach documents such as your degree, passport copy or passport size photograph. If you are ready with these documents, the application process should be easy and fast. The online application system will prompt you for documents that are compulsorily required by the recruiters/ line managers. The last part of the job description will tell you what documents are required to complete the application. Q. How can I find out the status of my application?A. Once you log into our system, you can see the status of all your applications under the ‘Applications’ heading. The application status is generated by the online system to show you the stage at which your application is. Your application can be in one of the following stages: - New: Your application has been submitted but has not been reviewed by the recruitment team.
- Under Review: The recruitment team is in the process of reviewing your application.
- Screened: Your profile was reviewed on submission and has not cleared the basic requirements of the job.
- Invited to Interview: You can cleared the basic requirement of the job and you have been invited to the interview for the job applied.
- Interviewed: Your interviewing process is complete, and you may be invited to another interview or you will be waiting for selection results from the recruitment team.
- Under Offer: You have been selected for the position and the recruitment team is in the process of making an offer.
- Hired: you have accepted the offer and have been hired for the position.
- Withdrawn: Indicates that you have withdrawn your candidature for the position.
- Rejected: Indicates that your application has not been successful.
- Incomplete: Indicates that you have not yet completed the application form. The recruiter will not be able to process your application if you do not complete it.
Q. When will I be able to find if my application was successful?A. We encourage candidates to check the application status online so that they are updated at every stage of the recruitment process. Depending on the job and the business for which you have applied, time to get back with the results may vary. We would like to inform each and every candidate on a personal basis, but that can be extremely difficult to manage. Hence in most cases, we only get in touch with the candidates that have cleared the basic assessment. However, you will receive a system generated email to inform you in case you have not cleared the basic assessment. In case you have already started with the interviewing procedure then you will be notified of the results by our recruitment team. |
