Q. What is the recruitment and selection process?A. Our recruitment and selection process is designed to ensure we identify candidates who are suitable for the role being interviewed for. Additionally, we also assess further growth and development potential. Specialist recruiters handle the job applications and create an initial shortlist based on fixed criteria, specifications and competencies. They then arrange a series of first round interviews; face-to-face if the candidate is in Kuwait, or over the phone or by video conference in case of an international candidate. Candidates selected for the final interviews are then invited to Kuwait if there is a genuine need. Other tools, such as assessment centres, psychometric profiling etc will be used if appropriate to the role. Q. How do I use the online application system?A. For information on all aspects of using our recruitment application system, please check our FAQs on using our Online application system. Q. What are your selection criteria for candidates?A. Key qualifications, experience, competencies and behaviours are analysed for every new role. From these a series of key selection criteria are agreed against which we assess all new applications. Those meeting at least 75% of the criteria will be considered for further review. Q. If I apply to a job, will you inform me about the status of my application?A. Our on-line recruitment system ensures that you receive confirmation of each step of the process via e-mail. For more information how you can check the status of your application on your own, please read our Online Application System FAQs. Q. I have the relevant experience, but I was not short listed for a job. Why is that?A. Experience is a large part of the selection process but other criteria also play a key role. From the list of resumes only the most relevant resumes are forwarded. As we can receive hundreds of resumes for some roles, this means that the majority of them would receive notification that they have not been short listed. Q. How can I prepare for the interview?A. Please visit our Career Advice section on guidance on several topics. Q. When can I expect to get the results after the interview?A. As with all interview processes, this will depend on a number of factors. There may be other candidates to be interviewed after your interviews are over and we may need to obtain feedback from several interviewers. The recruitment team will keep you informed of progress and give you a realistic timescale. Q. Can I apply to any other position in the company, if I did not succeed in the interview?A. We encourage you to constantly monitor the Alghanim Career website to identify opportunities which may interest you and which you feel you meet the key requirements. If you have not been selected from a previous interview process this will not, necessarily, discount you from consideration for other roles. Q. What happens once I accept the job offer?A. Our recruitment teams are highly experienced at bringing people into Kuwait and settling them into the company. You will receive guidance step by step for making your move to Kuwait as simple and easy as possible. We have been recruiting for many years and we can assure that you will get the best service possible in ensuring that you are relocated properly into Kuwait. Q. I have graduated but do not have my degree yet. What can I do?A. For certain types of work permits in Kuwait, you must hold a degree. However, if you have just graduated and are not in the position to submit the original degree, you must inform the recruiter so that he/she can arrange the appropriate visa that will allow you to enter Kuwait with a provisional degree issued by your institution/ ministry. Please remember that all documents that will be required from you by the ministry of Kuwait to grant you a visa will require attestation from the Embassy of Kuwait in your home country (i.e. country in which you reside or have taken the qualification from) Q. Do I need to get police clearance from my country to enter Kuwait?A. Yes. There are several entry requirements for residency and sponsorship in Kuwait. These include medicals, attested degree and a police check from your country of origin. Please note that The Embassy of Kuwait in some countries will require more checks to be done before they can stamp your visa. If in doubt, you must contact the Embassy of Kuwait in your home country. Q. Is the local labour law in Kuwait friendly for expatriates?A. Kuwait has a very large expatriate community and the labour law reflects this. The labour law was updated in Feb 2010, and includes many provisions to enhance the working experience for all employees in all companies. You can discuss more about the same with your recruiter and he/she will be able to guide you. |
